The Production Engineer Intern will support the Production Department in monitoring fabrication activities, tracking project progress, and assisting with production planning and reporting processes. This internship provides practical exposure to production engineering, fabrication operations, scheduling, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives within a fabrication yard environment while promoting a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
• Support daily production and fabrication activities by collecting and updating operational data.
• Assist in monitoring production progress against project schedules and milestones.Help maintain production records, reports, and performance tracking documentation.
• Support the preparation of production reports, dashboards, and status updates.Assist in reviewing production plans and schedules to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Participate in production coordination activities with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Project teams.
• Assist in identifying and tracking production issues, delays, and improvement opportunities.
• Support productivity monitoring and operational performance analysis.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing production efficiency and workflow effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with McDermott's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements and company procedures.
• Perform other production-related administrative and technical support tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree S1/D4 in the field of study as follows:
• Structural discipline : Civil Engineering (steel construction), Ocean/Offshore Engineering, Shipbuilding/Naval Engineering.
• Piping discipline : Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, Shipbuilding/Marine Engineering.
• Mechanical discipline : Mechanical Engineering.
• Electrical & Instrumentation : Electrical Engineering, Physic Engineering, Marine Engineering.
• Coating discipline : Material / Metallurgical Engineering or a typical Engineering bachelor degree with knowledge of Painting / Coating subject may preferred.
• HVAC : HVAC / Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering
The intern will be introduced to McDermott's production organization, fabrication yard operations, HSE requirements, and project execution processes. The intern will learn the fundamentals of production engineering, fabrication workflows, production terminology, and the importance of safety, quality, and productivity within a manufacturing environment.
The intern will gain exposure to production planning and scheduling principles, including work sequencing, resource allocation, and milestone management. The intern will assist in reviewing production plans, monitoring schedules, and understanding how project activities are coordinated to achieve production targets.
The intern will support the monitoring of production progress against planned schedules and key performance indicators. Activities will include collecting production data, updating progress records, and assisting in the preparation of production reports and dashboards to support operational decision-making.
The intern will participate in production coordination activities involving engineering, fabrication, quality, and project teams. The focus will be on identifying production challenges, understanding issue resolution processes, and supporting operational improvements under the guidance of experienced production personnel.
The intern will learn how production performance is measured and analyzed through operational reports and productivity indicators. The intern will assist in trend analysis, reporting activities, and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, quality, and project execution performance.
The intern will apply the knowledge gained throughout the internship by completing a production-related improvement project focused on safety, productivity, reporting, or process optimization. The internship will conclude with a final presentation summarizing key achievements, recommendations, and lessons learned during the program.
