Purpose of the Role
The HSE Project Intern will support the HSES team in implementing, monitoring, and promoting Health, Safety, Environment, and Security programs across project activities. The intern will gain practical exposure to HSES management systems, risk management processes, incident management, environmental programs, occupational health initiatives, performance reporting, and employee engagement programs while contributing to the project's safety culture and compliance objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project HSES Management System
• Assist in the implementation and administration of the Project HSES Management System.
• Support the review and communication of project HSES requirements, procedures, and standards.
• Participate in HSES meetings, briefings, and project safety activities.
• Help maintain HSES documentation and records.
2. HSE Risk Management & Permit to Work
• Support HSE risk assessment activities including Hazard Identification (HAZID), Task Risk Assessment (TRA), and Hazard Identification Tools (HIT Cards).
• Assist in monitoring and tracking risk mitigation actions.
• Learn and support the Electronic Permit-to-Work (ePTW) process.
• Participate in workplace inspections to identify hazards and unsafe conditions.
3. HSE Incident Management & HSES Assurance
• Assist in the recording, tracking, and reporting of HSE incidents and near misses.
• Support incident investigations by gathering information and maintaining records.
• Assist in internal audits, inspections, and assurance activities.
• Support follow-up actions arising from audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
4. Environmental Management & HSES Programs
• Support implementation of Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements.
• Assist in environmental monitoring, reporting, and compliance activities.
• Participate in HSES campaigns and programs such as iLead, BEEPS, and Beyond Zero Together (BZT).
• Help organize awareness programs, toolbox talks, and safety promotional activities.
5. Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene & Employee Participation Programs
• Support occupational health and industrial hygiene initiatives.
• Assist in monitoring workplace health and hygiene requirements.
• Promote employee participation programs including:
o Communication Cards
o Stop Work Obligation (SWO)
o Leadership Engagement Activities
• Support health and wellbeing campaigns across the project.
6. HSES Performance Reporting & Training
• Assist in collecting and consolidating HSES performance data and KPIs.
• Support preparation of weekly and monthly HSES reports.
• Maintain training records and training matrices.
• Assist in coordinating QHSES training sessions, inductions, and awareness programs.
• Support monitoring of training completion and compliance status.
• Strong interest in Health, Safety, Environment, and Sustainability.
Education
• Diploma 4 / Bachelor Degree in :
o Occupational Health and Safety (OHS/K3)
o Environmental Engineering
o Public Health
o Environmental Science
• Strong interest in Health, Safety, Environment, and Sustainability.

To Understand HSE risk management processes such as HAZID, TRA & HIT Card and Electronic Permit to Work process.
To understand of minimum requirements for Incident Management and Audit Management System
To understand of Environmental Management system (EMS) and HSES programs and campaigns
Occupational Health Safety Management system, Industrial Hygiene and HSES participation programs such as communication card, SWO and Leadership Engagement
To understand if HSES performance monitoring and measurements as well as QHSES Training process
