Month 1 – Introduction to Seismic Processing Learn: Basic seismic exploration and processing. Differences between 2D and 3D seismic data. Basic seismic terms and data formats, including SEG-Y. Seismic data structure and processing workflow. Observer logs, navigation logs, and RMS maps. Practice: Review sample seismic data. Identify basic seismic data and headers. Review project logs and documentation. Organize project data and records. Expected Output: Understand basic seismic data and the overall processing workflow.

Month 2 – Data Checking and Noise Identification Learn: How to check seismic data quality (QC). Common seismic noise and data problems. How to use observer logs, navigation logs, and RMS maps. Practice: Check seismic data under supervision. Identify noisy or abnormal traces. Review data quality and prepare QC records. Expected Output: Basic data QC checklist and noise identification report.

Learn: Basic denoising techniques. Introduction to feathering analysis. Basic seismic velocity analysis and velocity picking. Practice: Assist with denoising activities. Review feathering analysis results. Practice initial velocity picking. Check and record velocity analysis results. Expected Output: Denoising QC records and initial velocity-picking exercise

Learn: Velocity picking and refinement (V2, V3, and V4). How to check velocity consistency. Mistie analysis at seismic line intersections. Practice: Perform velocity picking under supervision. Check velocity results and identify inconsistencies. Compare seismic lines at intersections. Assist with velocity adjustments when required. Expected Output: Velocity QC records and mistie analysis report.

Month 5 – Seismic Migration and Processing QC Learn: Basic seismic migration concepts. Pre-Stack Time Migration (PSTM). Introduction to Pre-Stack Depth Migration (PSDM) and RMO analysis. How velocity affects seismic imaging quality. Practice: Assist with PSTM processing activities. Review migration results. Assist with RMO velocity picking when assigned. Compare processing results before and after velocity updates. Expected Output: Basic migration QC report and processing result presentation

Month 6 – Project Support and Final Evaluation Learn: How to apply the processing workflow to project activities. Project QC reporting and technical presentations. Project documentation and tender requirements. Meeting coordination and progress reporting. Practice: Assist with actual project processing activities. Support data QC, noise identification, and velocity analysis. Prepare QC slides and technical documents. Assist with tender documentation. Attend project meetings and prepare Minutes of Meeting (MoM). Compile the final internship report. Expected Output: Final QC presentation, internship report, and project documentation exercise.
