We're looking for a Product Design Intern with strong product sense for job seeker apps to help shape how job seekers in Indonesia discover and apply for jobs on Glints. You'll work with product designers, product managers, and engineers mainly on our job seeker app, with room to expand into the employer platform, and help make hiring simple and useful for both job seekers and the employers looking for them.
This role suits someone who doesn't wait for a brief. You'll proactively talk to users, dig into data and feedback, and bring problems worth solving to the team. From there, you'll map user flows, create wireframes and high-fidelity designs, and build prototypes to test ideas with real users. Experience with coding or AI-assisted workflows is a plus, as it will help you prototype faster and work closely with engineers.
What you'll do
- Use and audit Glints' job seeker app and employer platform, and benchmark other job seeker apps, to identify usability issues and opportunities.
- Proactively plan and run user research with Indonesian job seekers, and with employers where relevant, and turn findings into a backlog of evidence-based problems.
- Frame prioritized problems with the product team and explore solutions through user flows and wireframes.
- Create high-fidelity designs using Glints' design system, mobile-first for the job seeker app and web for the employer platform, adapted to local language and context.
- Build interactive prototypes, including coded or AI-assisted ones where useful, and iterate based on usability testing.
- Prepare design specifications and handover materials, and support engineers during implementation.
What we're looking for
- Strong product sense for job seeker apps, with clear opinions on what makes job search and application experiences intuitive and effective, and why.
- A good understanding of how Indonesian users use mobile apps and look for jobs, and fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Interest in two-sided marketplaces and designing for both job seekers and employers.
- A proactive and curious mindset: you seek out users, data, and feedback to find problems without waiting to be told.
- A portfolio that shows your design process, including research, problem framing, and iteration, not only the final UI.
- Proficiency in Figma and the ability to explain your design decisions clearly.
Nice to have
- Basic coding knowledge, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or a front-end framework, to understand technical constraints and build simple prototypes.
- Experience using AI tools in your design workflow, for example for research synthesis, content variations, or AI-assisted prototyping and coding.
- Experience with job platforms, marketplaces, or HR products, whether through previous internships, startups, or personal projects.

Learn how Glints' job marketplace works in Indonesia, with a focus on the job seeker app and how it connects to the employer platform, how product designers collaborate with product managers and engineers, and how the Glints design system is used. Use the job seeker app end to end as a candidate, explore the employer platform from a recruiter's point of view, review app store reviews and user feedback, and benchmark other job seeker apps in Indonesia, then complete a guided UX audit of one key candidate flow with the supervisor.
Learn the fundamentals of user research and take the initiative to run it, including interviews with Indonesian job seekers, and with employers where relevant, usability reviews, and analysis of product data, support tickets, and feedback. Build and maintain a backlog of user problems backed by evidence, using AI tools where helpful to speed up transcription and synthesis, and present the most important problems to the team.
Prioritize one problem from the research backlog with the product team and frame it as a clear opportunity, including the affected users, the evidence, and how success will be measured. Explore solutions through user flows and low-fidelity wireframes, present multiple design directions, and iterate based on feedback from product and engineering.
Develop the chosen direction into high-fidelity designs using the Glints design system, mobile-first for the job seeker app and web for the employer platform where relevant, taking local context into account, such as Bahasa Indonesia copy, a wide range of devices, and varying network conditions. Document any gaps or inconsistencies found in the design system along the way.
Build interactive prototypes to validate design decisions before development, including coded or AI-assisted prototypes where they make testing more realistic. Plan and run usability tests with target job seekers or employers, analyze the results against the defined success criteria, and refine the designs based on the evidence gathered.
Prepare developer-ready design specifications, including states, edge cases, and interaction notes, and support engineers during implementation, subject to team priorities and approval. Review the shipped or piloted experience against the original goals, summarize learnings, and hand over design files, research findings, the problem backlog, and outstanding questions to the relevant team.
